Ideally the image should include the animal sat upright in a portrait position (this makes for an excellent shaped cushion; however, I understand this is sometimes hard to do!).
Try to ensure your animal is clearly visible and there is no missing paws, ears and fur etc.
Take the photo with natural light surrounding them, perhaps outside or near a window.
The last tip is to ensure the image is of high quality as this will have an effect on the print and finished product.
